{"id":1854,"date":"2016-02-28T05:08:47","date_gmt":"2016-02-28T05:08:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/electricalconnection.com\/wp\/?post_type=product&#038;p=1854"},"modified":"2021-11-01T18:29:58","modified_gmt":"2021-11-01T18:29:58","slug":"isolator-indian-3","status":"publish","type":"product","link":"https:\/\/electricalconnection.com\/index.php\/product\/isolator-indian-3\/","title":{"rendered":"Isolator, Indian &#8211; for 3 light arrays"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Please note this page is ONLY for Indian motorcycles from 2014+ with 3 lights on the rear fender (not including the license plate light or a trunk light).<\/p>\n<p><strong>Why use an isolator<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Isolators easily and properly connect the lighting from your trailer, sidecar, trike, etc. while removing the electrical load from the motorcycles factory wiring, fuses, relays, computers, and electronics.<\/li>\n<li>Proper isolation of electrical loads will help you not void any factory warranty.<\/li>\n<li>Our design is a modular daisy chain of a separate sub-harness, modules, and the Isolator.<\/li>\n<li>The advantage is that you can accommodate a 5 wire trailer, a 4 wire trailer, or swap sub-harnesses should you sell your current bike.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sub-Harnesses<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The sub-harness connects to your bike on one end and the Isolator on the other.<\/li>\n<li>This makes the connection \u201cPlug &amp; Play\u201d so you don\u2019t have to splice.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Can-Bus Module<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The turn signals on the Indian are the reverse polarity of every other motorcycle on the market.<\/li>\n<li>Our CanBus module will take the reverse power and convert it to properly trigger your isolator.<\/li>\n<li>It is required in all installations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Isolator<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The isolator is the main component.\u00a0 \u00a0And ours is made in the USA.\u00a0 Tennessee to be exact.<\/p>\n<p>Ours are epoxy potted for weather resistance using Omron components (Omron is an OEM supplier to almost all the major automotive and motorcycle manufacturers).<\/p>\n<p>We use the best component available for the job; in fact, Toyota uses the same component for power window switching.<\/p>\n<p>There are 2 versions available for the Indian.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>5 wire system.\u00a0 This will be for any trailer with separate turn signals and brake lights.<\/li>\n<li>4 wire system.\u00a0 If your trailer is a 4 wire setup (has combined brake and turn signals), you will receive a specifically designed isolator that has the converter built-in.\u00a0 Unfortunately, with the current CanBus that Indian has changed too, we are currently unable to offer our usual 5 to 4 converter option.\u00a0 How do you tell if you need this special version? Look at the wiring plug on your trailer \u2013 does it only have 4 wires? If yes, then it\u2019s required.\u00a0 This version will work with LED lights since it is active electronics.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Note: \u00a0Polaris made changed to the CanBus portion of the lighting in 2017 and is updating bikes when brought in for service. \u00a0When using the previous 5 to 4 converter under normal conditions, your bike will not throw any codes. \u00a0If you activate the hazards, the bike will create a &#8216;ground fault&#8217; code. \u00a0When you turn the hazards off and power cycle the ignition (turn key off and then back on), the code will clear out after flashing a few times to indicate there was an issue. \u00a0Unfortunately, due to the design of the lighting system, there is no way around this.<br \/>\nThe Indian software update from 2017\u00a0 will make older versions of our converter throw a code.<span style=\"color: #ffffff; font-family: Arial; font-size: xx-large;\"><br \/>\n<!-- AddThis Button END --><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Please note this page is ONLY for Indian motorcycles from 2014+ with 3 lights on the rear fender (not including the license plate light or a trunk light).
